Issey Sun Shades at the Touch of a button

Nothing can be more convenient than having reliable, high quality motorised sun shades. We believe you will get more use, and therefore more benefit, from your awning or blind if it is easier to use. This is why Issey strongly recommend motorised systems.

Motorised awnings and blinds are used much more frequently than manual models. Can you imagine changing the TV channel regularly if you didn’t have the remote? Or parking in your garage every day if it had a hand operated door?

There are several options for motorisation of your retractable shade:

  • Hardwired Motorisation – your sun shade is hardwired to a switch on an internal wall.
  • RTS (Remote Control) Operation – your awning or blind is connected to power and operated via a hand held remote control. RTS operation allows greater flexibility when several sun shades are in play because operation can occur from almost anywhere in the home. Electrical works can also be reduced, as there is less wiring required than with the hardwired system.
  • Automatic Operation
    • Wind Sensor – the shades connected to the wind sensor will retract when the wind reaches a certain speed. This can help protect the system from wind damage.
    • Sun & Wind Sensor – the awnings and blinds connected to the sun and wind sensor will extend when the sun comes out and retract when it goes away or the wind gets too strong. This helps keep the home cool and protected even when you are not home.
  • Building Management Systems (BMS) – many homes and buildings are integrating BMS for increased convenience and intelligent control over their building. Our motorised sun shades can easily be controlled by your BMS.

An electrician is required to connect your motorised awnings and blinds. You can use an electrician you are familiar with or we can recommend electricians that we regularly use. Issey do not have any licensed electricians on staff and are therefore unable to carry out any electrical work.

The motors run off standard 240v power and Issey can provide wiring diagrams.

The tubular motors are hidden in the headbox of the awning or blind for an unobtrusive look.

Today over 95% of Issey jobs are motorised. In the past we had numerous situations where people originally bought manual systems for initial cost savings, then after a few months of operation, have wanted to upgrade to a motorised system.

We only use Somfy electronics, the world leader in home automation because of their reliability and cutting edge technology. Motor technology has greatly improved with excellent reliability.
