ISSEY BRINGS SOLAR CONTROL TO RUSTIC WINERY
An Australian winery needed heat and glare protection in their tasting area and café. The client called on Issey to provide a sophisticated, quality system with effective sun control.
The Client
Evans & Tate Winery, one of Australia's leading producers of premium table wines, is based in the Margaret River area in the South West of Australia. Margaret River is considered to be one of the New World's finest wine growing regions.
The Challenge
Evans & Tate was experiencing heat and glare problems in the tasting area and café of the winery. They called on Issey to achieve control over the heat and to block the uncomfortable glare shining in through the windows.
Additionally, the client wanted to maintain the look and feel of the winery amongst the country, vineyard setting. They wanted to be able to choose an aesthetically pleasing system in customised colours so that the sun shading systems would blend seamlessly into the surroundings.
Proposed Solution
Issey chose to install Vertiroll tension screens on the windows of the winery to achieve the client’s desired sun protection. Five Vertiroll screens were installed around the tasting area, measuring 4.4m x 3.3m. Around the café, three Vertirolls were installed, measuring 3.5m x 3.3m.
The Vertiroll systems block glare, heat and damaging UV radiation. The external screens are also robust and can withstand windier climates. Its permanent tracks and weighted bottom bar help secure the system in place.
When fitted with a see-through Soltis 86 fabric, wine-tasters and café patrons will be able to enjoy soft visible light and the views of the vineyard whilst being protected from uncomfortable solar elements. The screens also blend flawlessly into the mood of the vineyard, maintaining the rustic, relaxing feel of the establishment.
The Job
The Vertirolls brought the winery sun control with a view. The wine tasting area and the café were shielded from the sun’s uncomfortable glare, providing relaxing areas for patrons to eat, drink, and enjoy the scenery.
When more light or warmth is necessary, winery staff can fully retract the systems at the touch of a button. The screens withdraw into unobtrusive headboxes, which conceal and protect the blinds, therefore prolonging the life of the sun shades.

Issey brought Evans & Tate high quality, sophisticated sun shading systems. The winery achieved optimal sun protection as well as aesthetically pleasing design to maintain the winery atmosphere for patrons.
