ISSEY SYSTEM STYLES vs. OTHER TYPES
Why use external sunshades?
It is best to use an external sunshade wherever possible for the most effective climate control. External blinds and awnings will stop the sun at the point of entry, before heat gets onto the glass and into the room. When glass is heated by the sun, it acts as a ‘mini-radiator,’ sending heat into the house.

Why use retractable sunshades?
With retractable shades you have precise control over the amount of sun coming into a building. During summer, the shades are extended to keep the home cool; in the winter they are retracted to let in light and warmth. Retractable sunshades will save money on energy costs.

Why should I use see-through screen fabrics?
A screen fabric fitted externally will block up to 92% of the sun’s rays without cutting the light or view. You don’t have to sit in the dark and block your view to stay cool, even on the hottest days.

Why should I use acrylic canvas awning fabric?
Acrylic canvas gives the highest form of protection blocking 99.5% of UV rays. It is ideal for giving overhead protection where the sun in at its highest and strongest. Depending on the colour chosen, natural light can still filter through.

How do your products compare to pergolas, sails, louvres, umbrellas and fixed canopies?
An external and retractable awning or blind gives much greater flexibility than other types of shading systems. The great advantage is the retractability - giving you shade on demand. You can extend the awning and blind when you require protection and retract it when you want the winter warmth.

Fixed systems give constant shade even when you want the warmth of the winter sun and can have permanent blades or poles obstructing the area.

When our systems retract away, they go into the headbox and there are no blades or poles obscuring your area or view. You can also maintain the natural light and keep your view while protecting your home.

The Issey awnings & blinds are much less cumbersome than umbrellas or temporary gazebos and a lot more durable.

External and retractable systems are really the way to go for the intelligent home owner.

Will your sunshades do the same thing as rollershutters?
Rollershutters are designed to provide security for the home, while keeping it dark and cool. Issey sun shades are designed purely to control the heat and damaging rays of the sun; but they also allow light into the home. And because you can see through the screen fabric, you can easily maintain your view.

Why should I purchase an Issey sun shade instead of another brand?
Issey comes from a background of incomparable experience and skill. Because we design and manufacture in Australia for Australia, you will not find a better system built for Australian conditions.

European imports are designed and manufactured for the much milder summers of Continental countries. They are not generally built to withstand the harsh Australian sun and coastal conditions.

We also customise the system and try to colour match as much as possible.

Service is of paramount importance to us; not just during the sales process, but in any other dealings we may have with you.

We do not sell our systems merely for the sake of selling. There are times when our systems are not suitable and we will not be able to solve the particular problem. In these instances, we will not sell you a product that won’t meet your needs. The Issey owners come from a passionate foundation of value-adding, problem solving and environmentally responsible sun solutions.

The quality of our systems are second to none. They are built to last in Australian conditions. Elegant craftsmanship is the Issey trademark. Our sun shades add value and ambience to homes and should be viewed as a long term investment.
